How rental works

02 / New student pilots

New to flying?
Start here.

You don’t need to be a certificated pilot to begin lessons with an instructor. Bolt rents the aircraft; your independent flight instructor provides your Part 61 training.

How to start trainingAlready a pilot? Explore rentals
  1. 01

    Meet an independent instructor.

Bring an independent CFI or ask about available instructors. Discuss your goals, schedule, and how to begin with no flight experience.

  2. 02

Rent a Cessna for your lessons.

Coordinate aircraft rental with your instructor’s lesson schedule. Your CFI tailors the training plan to your experience and goals.

  3. 03

    Build toward your pilot certificate.

Develop your knowledge and flight skills with your independent CFI. Solo flying is a later step requiring the appropriate qualifications, endorsements, and operator approval.
